Histowiz is a Y Combinator backed biotechnology company in NYC looking for a superstar full-stack Lead Engineer to build an intelligent tissue platform to fight cancer cooperatively instead of individually. The developer will work directly on our core software to provide a high-quality experience to our customers.

Since inception in 2013, we have 1000+ customers from top academic institutes (e.g. MSKCC, Harvard, Cornell, MIT, Dana Farber, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, UC Berkeley, the Jackson Lab, HHMI, Cancer Research UK) and pharmas (e.g. Pfizer, Novo Nordisk, Regeneron, Alexion) around the world. In addition, we've accumulated the world’s largest, most comprehensive online pathology database. This database enables tissue-driven data mining for the first time and the development of machine learning tools based on histopathology images for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. Our vision is to combine biology with computer science and bring cutting-edge technologies to biomedicine.

Responsibilities ● Increase customer satisfaction by improving UX and build new features ● Proactively identify and fix bugs ● Setup automate testing to ensure reliable service ● Provide technical support to lab staff

Requirements ● Degree in computer science ● HTML, CSS, Javascript, and front-end MVC frameworks (Ember.js, Angular.js...) ● 3-5 years of experience in building scalable web applications, Flask, Python, MySQL ● Linux and dev ops (bash, git, continuous integration, automated testing) experience ● Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFormation, CloudFront) ● Effectively communicate technical issues with customers and non-technical colleagues

Location: Must be based in the NYC area or willing to relocate to NYC to work in person.

Prior experience with early stage startups, computer vision, statistics, and machine learning is a plus.
